Privacy - trainees
When you register with our website, the type of data we collect from you is updated from time to time. We also look at enrolment data on you held by the Joint Committee on Surgical Training to add to our records. Your data can be seen by your assigned educational supervisor from time to time and your Training Programme Director. It can also be seen (in statistical format or to the extent necessary properly to consider your progression through your training and/or qualification) by your Local Education Training Board (LETB), deanery, schools of surgery, Specialty Advisory Committees, the Joint Committee on Surgical Training, the Joint Committee on Intercollegiate Examinations, your Specialty Surgical Association, and the ISCP members.
Once your registration is processed and accepted, we may use your data to liaise with other parties to the ISCP collaboration, as described in section 2, for example regarding where your placement will take place or for arranging the allocation of a suitable surgical educational supervisor to you.
Details of your registration are shared with your LETB/deanery/school of surgery (particularly the relevant Training Programme Director) to assist in your training including enabling your learning agreement to be set up, amended and completed in due course. This also allows for the administration of your registration and progress through to completion of training to be monitored and dealt with. We will hold a copy of your portfolio documents, including your assessments and the learning agreement, and records added to it from time to time by you and your educational supervisor as to its fulfilment.
We will use anonymised data on a statistical basis to plan improvements and report on success rates in surgical training.
Material and comments transmitted or posted by you to or through this website can be linked to you.
Privacy - educational supervisors and Training Programme Directors
We hold details of all potential surgical educational supervisors so that on registration of a surgical trainee, the relevant Training Programme Director can validate a suitable educational supervisor.
Once allocated, educational supervisors will then be able to work with trainees regarding the progress of their training.
All Training Programme Directors are authorised on the ISCP website through the information held by the Joint Committee on Surgical Training, created by and/or representing those bodies set out in section 2.2.
We will try to ensure that subject to required scheduled and published unscheduled maintenance and repairs, the site is available as much as possible 24 hours a day, 365 days per year, whilst required for the ISCP.
Availability and operation is however dependent upon the availability of the internet.
Access and/or functions may be suspended or unavailable temporarily, either for scheduled maintenance for which we will give notice on the website, or without notice due to unscheduled maintenance or repair or for reasons beyond our control and for which we shall have no liability.
Thank you for your feedback.
