Updates to the Cardiothoracic Surgery curriculum are coming in August 2026
The GMC has approved the revised Cardiothoracic Surgery curriculum, in line with the Excellence by Design standards for postgraduate medical education. The updated curriculum will take effect from August this year. Trainees should move to the updated curriculum as they enter Cardiothoracic Surgery or progress within it, in accordance with the transition plan.
